Violet Lemay
As a girl in the happy land of St. Louis, Missouri, Violet Lemay was always drawing and making things with her hands. When she grew up, she became a costume and set designer and moved to New York City, which was a lot of fun. Even though she loved her work and living in NYC, Violet realized that her true dream was to illustrate books for children. She moved south to attend a school for illustrators. Since then, Violet has illustrated eighteen books for children (including Isabella’s Shoe Studio, which she also wrote), with more on the way-mostly for duopress, her favorite publisher, for whom she also acts as art director.

He shares his ranch in Oakland with his family, dogs, chickens, goats, and bees. A barn studio and a 7,000 square foot outdoor studio make it a great location option with a full apartment for visiting ADs.

Bobbi Lin
Born in the Far East and raised in the Wild West, Bobbi grew up on uni, Taco Bell, and everything in between. No wonder her favorite recipes are longan jello or Thanksgiving Day dumplings – marrying two cultures with food is nothing short of world peace for this food lover.
Lin studied photography at Parsons Paris and fell in love with being behind the camera – a backstage pass to cloistered places and people. Before becoming a full-time photographer, she was an editor and product developer at Martha Stewart Living and freelance set designer+prop stylist in New York City for 10 years.
Now she shoots food and still life for national brands and travels on assignment in search food and “real” life.

Claudine Gevry
As a young girl, Claudine always felt a strong desire to work in the visual arts and, as the daughter of a writer, she also developed a great love of books. Having received her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of Quebec, she spent some time designing for television, but decided after a few years to return to her first love, illustration. As someone who incorporates her innate sense of design into everything around her, she also has created and executed many designs for both furniture and other household objects. Her dream is to travel around the world in a sailboat, deriving inspiration from the shapes and colors of other cultures.
