The Impact of Covid-19 on Artists and the Arts

Posted on

The Mona Lisa by Leonardo DaVinci is an image recognized all over the world as as icon of western art. She’s also been interpreted and re-interpreted over time, but it’s still jarring to see her in this latest version  wearing a white medical face mask, but that’s the point. As museums, galleries, concerts, and more are closed or cancelled, the artist Paul Garland is reminding us how important the arts are to our lives, but more importantly, to stay safe.

COVID-19 Virus

First of all, I hope that you are keeping well and healthy during these unsettling times.

Whilst I am sure you will have received plenty of emails regarding the COVID-19 virus, I thought I’d take the opportunity to produce a new piece of work on the subject, based around the effect it is having on the Arts, Galleries and Museums, Pop Concerts, the Theatre, Pubs and Clubs, the Leisure Industries and of course, Freelance Artists.

This is a very quick message to promote myself and to say that I am still here and available to work with you on any project that you feel may be appropriate.

Wishing you well, stay safe and I hope we can work together in the near future.

Best wishes, Paul.
