Photographer Kyle LaFerriere spent a year documenting falconry for Virginia Living Magazine, following David Culotta and his falcon, Oden, as they trained together in Richmond, VA. Alongside capturing David’s unique bond with Oden, Kyle had the chance to create portraits of other members of the Virginia Falconers Association, showcasing both solo training sessions and collaborative hunts. His images celebrate the dedication and tradition of falconry in Virginia.
Kyle is a Richmond-based commercial and tourism photographer, passionate about creating imagery that elevates brands across the U.S. and internationally. With a background in Creative Advertising from VCU and over a decade of experience, he brings storytelling to life through photos and videos. Known for his creative problem-solving and dedication to relatable visuals, Kyle loves the challenge of each new project. Outside photography, he’s an avid trail runner, often tackling ultra-distance races.
