Photographer/Director duo, Tracy + David photographed and filmed the annual hop harvest in Washington’s Yakima Valley, working as a team on the ground and in the air with a drone to tell the story of the harvest and capture the beauty of the region.
For nearly a month every fall, hop harvest runs around the clock, with thousands of workers coming to the area to help get the hops from vine to cup. At some of the largest hop farms in the country, Tracy + David documented the people and process behind the harvest, from the vast fields of hops to the machinery and intensive work of bringing in and processing the crop. Shooting photography and video from both the ground and the air allowed them to capture the scale of the harvest and the scenic beauty of one of the world’s premier hop-growing regions. Heavy wildfire smoke in the area transformed the skies, creating dramatic color across the landscape throughout the harvest.
