The United States Postal Service stamp program has honored and celebrated the people, events, and cultural milestones unique to the history of the United States since 1847. So as a photographer, it is also an honor to have one or, as in the case of photographer Cade Martin, four of your images chosen.
This new series of Forever stamps honors the Hip-Hop movement with each image depicting an important element of the culture: MCing, b-boying, DJing, and graffiti. The designer Antonio Alcalá’s use of color and repeating, overlaying imagery creates visual energy and excitement that speaks to the influence this musical genre has had on American Culture.
The series will be available for purchase in 2020.
