Illustrator Jacob Thomas, the creator of the Batman portrait, will soon exhibit a whole array of Trump portraits at the Chicago Degenerate Art Gallery, opening on April 1st. The series on display is a culmination of what began as a guerrilla art campaign featuring “Trump as Batman” on the streets of Chicago, which was spotted by Gallery owner Nicholas Zahn, who made it his mission to track down Jacob. As Trump’s popularity surged, so did Jacob’s output of Trump portraits. Jacobs hopes that by combining humor with activism he is able to contribute to the political debate in a meaningful way.
