For Photographer Director duo Corey and Emily Critser, their recent shoot for Phillips 66 brought the heat in more ways than one. Their Las Vegas location greeted them with a scorching 108-degree heatwave. On set, their team had to get inventive, using a Yeti cooler to keep laptops and hard drives from overheating, while their digitech worked full-time to manage the heat-sensitive gear.
Despite the extreme conditions, Corey and Emily, along with advertising agency Love Advertising, led a small, agile crew to capture both photography and B-roll video featuring four main talent and GUARDOL product shots. The intense desert sun meant that even sweat couldn’t form, but the fine layer of salt that remained on their skin and their incredible images and footage served as evidence of the day’s effort.
Through resilience and resourcefulness, the team delivered a collection of striking visuals that met the campaign’s high standards. The project showcased not only their creative eye but also their ability to adapt under pressure, turning a grueling environment into a successful shoot.
