-Get a copy of the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook and study it! Too many artists undersell themselves, and the pricing and contract guidelines it offers are super helpful.
-Build real relationships. David offers a ton of advice on how to do this.
-When it comes to publishing contracts, always negotiate for fee plus royalties. These contracts are his biggest moneymakers. David gives some specific examples where this was a very successful strategy.
-Never forget that as a creative person you have a gift to give the world whether you are getting paid for an image or not. Never forget your worth, but keep working to hone your skill and keep communicating.
