Intrigue and appetite are front and center for these Mendola Artists. The latest work from Illustrators Katt Phatt and Luis Pinto showcase each artist’s ability to convey story through their unique lens.
Katt Phatt illustrated the recently-revealed cover for The Gilded Blade, the shattering finale to Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ bestselling Inheritance Games Saga. Katt’s ornate cover art stuns, as it has throughout the series—rich with details, symbols, and shimmering textures. Katt also illustrated prior covers in the series: The Same Backward as Forward. Shifting gears to the culinary side of things, Luis Pinto was commissioned by Saffron Road Food as part of their artist collaboration series, in which animal illustrations were created to represent the heritage and cuisine of different countries. Luis illustrated and animated a hummingbird, an iconic animal in Mexican visual culture, and the illustration is used on packaging for the brand’s Mexican-inspired foods.
