Genya O’Neall’s Color Infused Project for Sharpie

Posted on

For Sharpie’s Bold Horizons Collection campaign, Photographer/Director Genya O’Neall took her crew to the summit for a full day of shooting, starting at midday and running straight through sunset. The goal: capture the same explosion of color that inspired the marker collection itself, the pinks, oranges, and golds of a sky in transition.

Genya wore two hats on set, shooting stills and directing motion in the same breath. “I got to shoot still and direct motion – fun with my brain firing on all cylinders!” she said of the day. Chasing all the colors in the sky, Genya’s commitment to chasing the real thing, real light, real color, real altitude, comes through in every frame. It’s a fitting match for a marker collection built around the boldest palette nature has to offer. As Genya shares, “Shooting on location like that always comes with its share of challenges, but the joy of creating always outweighs them.”
