There is a wealth of technique and style to explore in the 2024 WORKBOOK’s Directory of Illustration, the first collaborative issue between Workbook and The Directory of Illustration, online now and arriving on your desks soon.
Scratchboard, woodblock, watercolor, acrylic, cut paper and even the hand- knit are just some of the illustration mediums that Workbook artists employ to express themselves and their ideas, and according to CreativeBloq, we will be seeing a lot more of these made-by-hand techniques in 2024. With what seems like the relentless march of AI, a resurgence of imagery rendered by the human hand signals authenticity and has never been more relevant. The artists you see here work primarily by hand, although some may employ computer programs to complete a finished file of an individual piece of artwork.
