Jackson knew he wanted to do something with the box of old woodworking tools that had belonged to his grandfather. He first photographed them on white, but not satisfied, he created what he thought was an appropriate environment by adding background shots of the concrete floor in his carport. Placed on these backgrounds that evoke the night sky with stars and galaxies, and nebula, these mundane objects take on a life of their own, like something from a Star Wars sequel.
