Once we discovered that Jeff Kauck originally trained as a watercolor painter, his way of approaching a project, like his recent work for Mariano’s, made perfect sense. Viewing these images, it’s clear that he loves texture and color and knows how to crop an image for maximum impact. It’s why he’s had a successful career in advertising and editorial photography for more than 30 years.
His collaborative approach to storytelling enabled him and the team from CK Milwaukee to compose a series of loose editorial images to be used on everything from in-store signage and wallscapes to billboards and bus shelters. It’s the kind of sophisticated imagery that creates a distinctive brand that signals to the consumer an appreciation for quality and is proof of the power of photography to engage.
