Illustrator Joe McKendry honors President Jimmy Carter in this stately portrait illustration. Created for news and media website Airmail Weekly, Joe’s touching tribute depicts President Carter in different phases of his life with the hat and scarf providing a nod to his farming roots. The logo on his hat pays homage to the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, in which he worked tirelessly around the globe building thousands of homes for Habitat for Humanity, leaving a lasting legacy.
Joe finalized the process in Procreate using the illustration layers to superimpose the hat and scarf over the portrait of the President in a suit and recorded his process to reveal a final animated portrait of two men.
