Photographer Jonathon Chi was recently invited back to Retta’s, a dessert and cocktail bar tucked into Louisville’s quiet Clifton neighborhood. This second shoot focused heavily on Sous Chef Omar Romero and his specialized à la carte offerings, while also capturing the latest creations from owner and head chef Ben Deutch, whose tasting menus effortlessly blur the line between sweet, savory, and wonderfully inventive.
Jonathan captured a stunning variety of the new menu items, including “Raspberry”—a dish inspired by memories of late-night PB&J saltine cracker towers and picking raspberries at Grandpa’s house.
Jonathon leans into capturing the details while honoring the story behind every dish, making each image as much a work of art as the subject matter.
