Keith Barraclough at The Puppy Bowl

Photographer Keith Barraclough’s latest assignment involved spending 12 hours in a 12′ x 12′ room photographing 93 puppies for use by sponsors and media.   Keith described it this way, ” There is obviously a lot of whooping, and hollering, squeaky toys, treats, and earplugs. Welcome to the the 16th Annual Animal Planet Puppy Bowl!

Originally designed as counter programming to the Super Bowl, The Puppy Bowl is now in its 16th year and is wildly successful. It began as a sort of desperate attempt to come up with counter programming to The Super Bowl. The only thing executives thought might compete was a group of adorable puppies running around a mini football field. Since then, it has grown into a major event with millions of viewers and big sponsors in the form of Geico Puppy Bowl Stadium, which is covered with brand names like Pedigree and Petco, to name a few.
