Having graduated with honors with a degree in Communication Arts and Design, Scott Dorman is the driving force behind Smalldog Imageworks. Initially working as a graphic designer, he shifted gears to become a photo retoucher. From 2001-2005 he worked exclusively with photographer Jim Fiscus, creating award-winning work for clients such as Nike, Adidas, Michael Phelps for ESPN Magazine, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Rescue Me for FX, and hip hop artists such as Jay-Z, Usher, Jermaine Dupri, Outkast, Nelly, and Ludacris. In 2005, Smalldog Imageworks was founded, and Scott quickly developed relationships with several esteemed photographers and has placed multiple times in Communication Arts Photography Annuals, and Luerzer's Archive named him among the 200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide.
Jim Cohen has been an illustrator for over thirty years. His work includes science-fiction themes and collage. His thought-provoking imagery is meant to educate, as well as entertain. Jim is also an educator. He has taught illustration, graphic design, and interactive media for more than twenty-five years. Schools include The American Academy of Art, The Illinois Institute of Art, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, SCAD, and the Academy of Art University. He believes being an illustrator is key to teaching illustration. Jim has an MA in illustration from Syracuse University and an MFA in illustration from The University of Hartford (both under the watchful eye of mentor Murray Tinkelman). He also studied art at Northwestern University under artist Ed Paschke and at The American Academy of Art in Chicago.
Wilson Hennessy creates colorful and graphic product photography. It is his passion. Through constant experimentation, he produces new personal projects or new techniques. He has completed briefs with numerous obstacles that include model making, set builds, splashes, spills, in studio or on location, including motion and CGI. Visually problem solving from a PDF brief to producing a photograph is one of the greatest parts of his job. It has also given Wilson some great memories, like manufacturing clouds in a studio for Nissan, making two-foot wide razors for Gillette, or turning George Michael into a rubber duck. Wilson resides in London with his wife and two children.
Steph Calvert is an award-winning illustrator with a BFA in computer art from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her focus was traditional hand-drawn animation, creating illustration work with a sense of emotion and movement. She has a knack for injecting little bits of family-friendly hilarity into her work. With 15-plus years of professional experience, including 10 years working as an in-house artist for companies like OshKosh B'Gosh and Mighty Fine, she is a bona fide professional. She doesn’t cringe at revisions and is one of the hardest workers you'll ever meet. Her clients are located all over the United States and have included indie brands like coloring book publisher Colorful Cities and household names like Kohl’s department stores.
Mark Snyder has been creating images for advertising and design for about 30 years. After studying applied photography at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, Mark began his career in Toronto assisting several top photographers. He later opened his own studio. After many successful years of producing award-winning images while working with top agencies, Mark discovered 3D CGI. The challenge of mastering 3D was daunting, yet led to a new chapter in his career. Mark incorporates many software packages into his workflow to create photorealistic 3D images. He often incorporates photographic textures. Combined with his extensive lighting skills acquired through his many years of experience in a studio setting, he is able to add a high level of realism to each new image.
Taylor Callery is an American digital and traditional artist whose conceptually bold and graphic work has been featured in the pages of Newsweek, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Harper’s, Smithsonian, the Atlantic, Money magazine, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and many more. Taylor has also been recognized by prominent entities such as American Illustration, The New York Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, and 3x3 magazine.
