UK illustrator/paper sculpture Polly Lindsay has an impressive list of commercial clients which includes MasterCard, Verizon, OpenTable, The Grammys, Men’s Health magazine, and Starwood Hotels, just to name a few. Her work is both sophisticated and naive, which is what makes it so charming. It can be utilized in GIFs or in two dimensions for all sorts of advertising and editorial assignments. But in the instance of the End of The Road Festival, held at the storied Larmer Tree Gardens near Tollard Royal in south Wiltshire, England, it allowed her to create something much more personal and physically engaging. She explains,”I created these two wooden houses on stilts (with help from the EOTR team) which you could stick your head up into. Inside the first was a garden scene filled with elements nodding to the festival, in the other a paper dolls’ house with hints to the different musicians playing that year. It was so fun watching people look inside the houses and seeing their reactions. This was the biggest personal project I had worked on for years, and it felt so liberating.”
