Margaret Lampert’s documentary short film, The Art of Growing Up, is a refreshing look at the world through young eyes. This group of teens and tweens are optimistic, empathetic and grounded. A common theme running through their lives is the importance of creative expression as something that adds depth and meaning to their lives. They’re writing poetry, drawing and painting, and composing music, and in the process, are learning who they are and the art of self-acceptance.
