Micah Lomel Reimagines Flipturn’s Burnout Days

Posted on

When Florida-based indie rock band Flipturn announced a reimagined version of their sophomore album Burnout Days, with each track interpreted by a different artist, they once again collaborated with longtime album cover illustrator Micah Lomel. For the release, Micah created three covers—two for the singles Swimming Between Trees and Right?, and one for the full album.

Using collage as a visual reflection of the project’s collaborative spirit, Micah designed each piece to evolve with the rollout, gradually increasing the textures and complexity. For the final album artwork, she printed the original cover she had created and layered collage and paint over it, transforming the image into something entirely new while echoing the album’s creative reinterpretation. The reimagined Burnout Days arrives March 13, accompanied by Micah’s distinctive artwork.
