Last summer Food & Wine reached out to Photographer Michael Piazza to see if he could shoot a 5 restaurants in Boston for their Best New Chefs City Guide series. They gave Michael a lot of latitude in contacting the restaurants (Oleana, Anchovies Bar, El Centro, Iru and Winsor Dim Sum Cafe) to plan logistics and scheduling, “It was an interesting cross-section and restaurants like Oleana jumped right on whereas the unapologetically old-school Winsor Dim Sum House in the heart of chinatown looked at me like I had 3 heads.” Michael’s persistence paid off, and his professionalism provoked even more participation from some of the originally dubious establishments. In the end, Michael left with great images and leftovers for day.
