While traveling in Hawai’i, Director and Photographer Scott Lowden collaborated with cultural practitioner Līhau at Nā Pōhaku o Hauwahine, a sacred site on O’ahu. Drawn to the spiritual resonance of the land and the freedom to experiment, Lowden used long exposures, double exposures, and vintage lenses to evoke a sense of stillness and sacred presence. This was not a performance, but a deeply rooted offering: a moment of ancestral connection, guided by oli (chant), ho’okupu (gifts), and the mana of the ʻāina. Through this work, Lowden invites the viewer to slow down and witness a living tradition in motion.
