Photographer/Director Nate Ryan was tasked with capturing real homeowners across Minnesota for the Minnesota nonprofit Center for Energy Environment’s “Electrify Everything campaign, and ASHP Collaborative. The project highlights how technologies like air-source heat pumps can improve efficiency while taking advantage of utility rebates and renewable energy. The deliverables were a library of images and short 2 minute mini documentary about the benefits and reasons each homeowner chose to use a heat pump over traditional AC/Furnace. It was important that Nate captured homeowners and their heat pumps in both the winter and early summer to show the range of seasons heat pumps can be used.
Whether Nate walked in a fan of heat pumps is hard to say, but after the campaign, Nate took to his socials to lend his support, “It’s been a rewarding project to support more energy-efficient homes.”
