New Work from Medical Illustrator Alex Webber

Posted on

Medical Illustrator Alex Webber has recently completed several projects that underscore her ability to translate complex scientific breakthroughs into accessible, visually compelling stories. Her work spans some of the most exciting and challenging areas in neuroscience and oncology today.

For Artificial Organs, Alex illustrated emerging research on cortical visual prostheses—an ambitious technology exploring how bionic vision could restore sight through direct brain stimulation. Her visuals break down a highly technical concept into a clear, engaging look at the future of neural interfaces.

In JADPRO (Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology), Alex’s detailed medical artwork accompanied features on magnet therapy for solid, inoperable brain tumors and pineoblastoma, a rare and aggressive pediatric brain cancer. Her illustrations support clinicians by clarifying mechanisms, treatment pathways, and disease processes.

Alex also produced several cover illustrations for JADPRO, tackling topics such as the gut microbiome, infusion-related reactions, and the psychological effects of living with a stoma. Each piece demonstrates her ability to distill complex science into visuals that communicate both precision and empathy.

Together, these recent projects showcase Alex Webber’s talent for bridging scientific depth with visual clarity—making advanced research understandable and meaningful for clinical audiences.
