Scratchboard and line art specialist Steven Noble has been ringing in the new year with a wide range of clients, each project showcasing his meticulous, hand-crafted approach.

Most recently, the Goldhagen Group commissioned Steven to create a custom illustration for a poster promoting their new documentary film, The Steel Porcupine. Addressing the Russian–Ukrainian war, the artwork was rendered in a detailed line-etching style, with color added separately in Photoshop, underscoring both the gravity and complexity of the subject matter.

For bespoke signet ring manufacturer Ruffs, Barnes Furr commissioned Steven to create a custom illustrated logo mark featuring the brand’s bird symbol. The goal was a distinctly hand-drawn design that reinforced Ruffs’ commitment to craftsmanship, with an engraved look that echoed the detail and precision of their jewelry.

Barnwood Valley Farms turned to Steven to develop a new brand identity rendered in a classic woodcut/linocut style. The illustration depicts rolling farmland with a central barn, alongside a simplified, cropped version created specifically for the sixth-generation potato farming family.

Steven also illustrated artwork for the Alabama Tourism Department’s Year of Alabama Trails campaign, a multi-year initiative running from 2025–2026. The campaign celebrates the state’s extensive trail systems and their impact on tourism, conservation, quality of life, and economic development.
