Owen Freeman and the Concept of Do-It-Yourself Evolution

Posted on

Scientists used to think humans stopped evolving long ago. But recent scientific breakthroughs in human biology show that we humans are in a constant state of evolution. Owen Freeman‘s illustrations for the National Geographic article titled Beyond Human shows us we’ve been adapting in specific ways, and in relatively short periods of time, in order to ensure survival. Now, given our advancements in science, medicine, and technology, we’re not waiting for evolution to do its job; we’re taking evolution into our own hands. Cyborgs, human cloning, and colonizing Mars no longer seem like subjects for science fiction.
