For the release of Sherwood Hockey’s new stick series Paul Nordmann and his crew traveled to Canada to shoot Calgary Flames player Matthew Tkachuk. Securing gear, work visas, use of the hockey rink and dealing with covid restrictions all made for a grueling pre-production, but the shoot day ultimately went off without a hitch.
Fast forward a few months right before the release of the stick, Matthew was traded to the Florida Panthers. Since all of stills and video we shot was in the Calgary Saddledome and in Matthew’s Calgary Flames gear all of that footage was basically useless!
The reshoot took place, but not without a scramble for an another location and a schedule that worked for everyone involved in the first go around. But in the end, they all made it work and the client was equally as pleased.
