Three New Projects from Illustrator Luisa Jung

Posted on

Illustrator Luisa Jung has been busy creating incredible artwork for various publications.

Luisa was commissioned by the publication Andere Zeiten (featured) for an article exploring the Easter Vigil, a time between darkness and light. Luisa enjoyed bringing to life symbols of nighttime and dawn in this piece.

Her illustration for The Washington Post was for their latest Op-Ed, “U.S. universities have lost sight of their core task.” The piece, written by James B. Murray Jr. and Meredith Woo, examines the urgent need for higher education to return to its fundamental mission: preparing and educating the workforce of the future.

Lastly, Luisa was commissioned by The New York Times for Paula Span’s The New Old Age column. The aritcle “Should Drug Companies Be Advertising to Consumers?” focuses on how aging is “becoming a target” of the pharmaceutical industry. After decades of debate, politicians of all stripes are now proposing bans on direct-to-consumer advertising. For this piece, the visual concept was inspired by the iconic Morris column (in Germany: Litfaßsäule), one of the first structures dedicated to public advertising.
