Veronica Lawlor Works with Mental Canvas

Posted on

What is Mental Canvas? According to their website Mental Canvas software “has reimagined drawing for the digital age by enabling creations that can be experienced outside the confines of a page or a single moment in time. With Mental Canvas all this power is placed intuitively and naturally in the artist’s hand.” And now Mental Canvas has launched a global $100K Challenge for the best scenes using their software.

Artist Veronica Lawlor worked with Mental Canvas to create these beautifully rendered scenes of a crowded Brooklyn Bridge for an installation at the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and is encouraging other illustrators to enter the competition. Categories in which to submit include architecture & places, education, comics, storytelling, and what they’re calling the napkin sketch. They’re running a series of one-week mini challenges as well. Check it out both for what it can offer you as an artists and for the potential of a big win!
