Hugh Kretchmer’s latest series titled Plastic Waves is a visual commentary on the impact of human behavior on the world’s oceans and seas. Each “wave” is sculpted out of recycled materials, notably plastic garbage bags. It’s a personal passion project created to benefit nonprofits devoted to water conservation through gallery print and book sales. These four images from the series have been selected for the Communication Arts 2022 Photo Annual which will be released next month.
