Capturing Action: Patrick Molnar’s Experience with the USMC

Posted on

Photographer Patrick Molnar’s recent project with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) was an immersive experience that delved deep into the life of Marine infantry during high-stakes training exercises. Specifically, the project revolved around exercises that took place in March 2025 in South Korea. This marked a significant opportunity for Molnar to showcase the rigorous training endured by Marines as they prepare for potential confrontations.

Molnar and his team were attached to an infantry platoon, allowing them to have a firsthand experience as they executed various tactical maneuvers. Inserted via helicopter a few miles from the North/South Korean border, they followed the Marines through two intense days of training. The scenarios involved patrolling wooded areas, digging in fighting positions, and engaging in simulated attacks from an opposing force. Despite the harsh elements, the support from the Marines was remarkable and made the experience not only bearable but also exhilarating for Molnar and his crew. The combination of action, camaraderie, and intensity made this project uniquely rewarding.
