Food Photographer Felicia Perretti’s latest personal series, Spring Awakening, is a richly layered exploration of sculptural still life, combining raw ingredients with fresh flowers to create striking, dramatic compositions. The concept had been simmering for some time, but Perretti waited until peak season to bring it to life, when fruits, vegetables, and blooms were at their most vibrant and photogenic.
To help realize the vision, she collaborated with longtime food stylist Judi Orlick and florist/ceramic artist Zofi Lipton, and was assisted by Jarrett Murphy. Together, the team curated a selection of standout ingredients and floral elements, balancing carefully planned ideas with time built into the shoot day to play, explore, and improvise. It should be noted that besides minor dust spotting and creative rigging, these images are true to what was captured in studio. The result is a collection of images where natural color, form, and texture collide.
