Nestled within the scenic bluff country in the heart of Winona, MN, the Sanborn Canoe Company takes building canoes and making paddles to an art form. The story of this small family-owned niche business, with its colorful graphic product gave Jonathan Chapman and his crew everything they need to create a brand film and a beautiful library of images for their client, Lands’ End “Workwear”Clothing. The campaign is a success pairing of the like-minded for whom “form follows function,” but the details matter.
In the Workshop, Lands’ End clothing is getting the job done, often covered in dust, thrown off by sanders or other vintage hand tools, while racks of paddles provide a backdrop of colorful graphics. In the wild, fisherman wearing Land’s End glide along through beautiful landscapes in beautifully shaped canoes. Even nature cooperated to provide a light rain perfectly timed to showcase a Lands’ End “all-weather” jacket.
