Ben Stern, of Stern Images, started on a Nikon FE from his father...still the best camera he has ever held. Since then he has traveled a bit, the FE or its successors in tow, from Singapore to El Salvador and a few places in between. The longest trip was also one of the shortest, circumnavigating the earth commercially in 46 hours, 39 minutes, and 40 seconds.

With an unmatched work ethic and high technical standards, Ben approaches his commercial photography with the same passion as when he first got his hands on the chrome of that FE.

Benjamin Stern is a commercial photographer based in Chicago. He has a fondness for chrome, whether on an old film camera or an old motorcycle.

He settled on a mix of the two: fashion illustration, which he studied at Epsom School of Art. He now confidently works figuratively in a very fresh, graphic, and colorful way, while his conceptual work relies on bold imagery and metaphor to communicate. He has earned many international awards and has worked with numerous clients over a 25-year career as an illustrator.
