Laura Barisonzi Follows the Makers Movement

Posted on

When Laura Barisonzi got the assignment to photograph the CEO of Etsy, she knew she wanted the shoot to take place in an artisan’s space. She settled on a leather worker’s studio in Brooklyn, and it was being in that environment which inspired her latest project The Maker’s Series.

Laura has a respect and affinity for those who create and produce their own products by hand. No outsourcing for this crowd; they stay true to their art. Through research and networking Laura connected with a diverse group of craftspeople. She photographed puppeteers, cutlers, luthiers, and boatbuilders in the process of turning object into art with their own hands, ensuring value and uniqueness.
