Michael Maes Captures Global Flavor in Diners Club International’s 75th Anniversary Project

Posted on

Photographer/Director Michael Maes brought his signature cinematic eye to Diners Club International’s 75th Anniversary project, Toasting Together: Cocktails for Travelers. Tasked with visually capturing 75 original cocktails inspired by destinations around the globe, Maes worked closely with FCB and mixologist Richard Beltzer to ensure each recipe was paired with a setting that authentically reflected its origin. From richly detailed set design to evocative lighting, Maes crafted imagery that not only showcased the drinks but told a deeper story of travel, tradition, and connection.

Highlights included a recreation of a classic supper club scene, paying homage to the moment Diners Club was first imagined, as well as vibrant cross-cultural scenes representing the brand’s global reach. Maes’ direction resulted in a visually stunning print and digital recipe book that honors 75 years of exploration, making each page a toast to the spirit of international discovery and dining delight.
