Illustrator Nigel Buchanan found inspiration for his latest campaign for Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) in an iconic image that appears on the east side of what is now left of the Berlin Wall. Known as The Kiss by Dmittri Vrubel, it depicts Communist dictators Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker in a socialist fraternal kiss. Nigel is one of many artists who have appropriated the image in unique ways for the purpose of mostly humorous political commentary. His reimagined version has Australian politicians settling their differences by sharing a lamb chop. They’ll be appearing as murals displayed around cities and border towns in Australia.
