Photographer Nikki Ritcher has been leading an expansive visual storytelling project for California Community Colleges, building a dynamic image library that spans the entire state: from San Diego and Long Beach to Sacramento and the Bay Area. The project highlights the diversity of students and academic programs across California’s 116 community colleges, with all talent drawn from real student populations to ensure authenticity and relatability.
Working at a fast pace and often covering multiple campuses in a single day, Nikki brings a flexible, documentary-style approach that captures everything from hands-on learning in cutting-edge labs to quiet study sessions and vibrant outdoor campus life. Each shoot yields hundreds of compelling, high-quality images, providing the client with a rich collection for marketing campaigns, recruitment materials, and web use. The project is ongoing, with additional shoots planned to further expand this valuable visual resource.
