Now Trending: Hand-Drawn

Posted on

Each month, we spotlight a trending topic in illustration, and this week we’re focusing on hand-drawn.

With AI-generated visuals making us second guess every video or image that crosses our feed, people have started turning away from the ultra-processed design work that feels mechanically distant and are looking towards the warmth and relatability of hand-drawn. From editorial to wellness, hand-drawn art is now sought after not only for being creatively unique, but also a touchstone of simpler, more analog artistry.

Ultimately it’s the flaws that make the artwork relatable. As our world becomes more and more technologically dependent, consumers are leaning towards artwork that feels relatable, touching on emotions rather than pushing product. The tiny imperfections are welcomed doses of humanity, and why hand-drawn is something to look out for with brands that seek relatability as part of their branding.
