Now Trending: Texture

Posted on

This month we explore the illustration trend of texture.

If what goes up must come down, then the tolerance for the overly artificial seems to be reaching its pinnacle. The recent illustration trend of texture making waves is in direct contrast to the polish of AI-generated imagery. The desire for analog media is causing illustrators to evoke dimension through various textures like tactile use of brush marks and collage. The goal is creating dimension for otherwise flat images while also exploiting imperfections to give the piece a touch of humanity. It’s a welcomed trend, expressing a need for connection with images created. Ultimately that connection comes from the source, and Workbook Illustrators and inspired and ready to deliver.
