Like almost everyone, photographer John Haynes was stuck at home this past spring and early summer and looking for ways to to stay engaged with the world. He and his wife have milkweed growing in their small yard and collected the eggs of the monarch butterfly that is drawn to the plant There is a symbiotic relationship between the native milkweed plants and the monarch. The monarch butterflies enjoy the nectar from the flowers and help pollinate the plants.
