We asked our contributors to share their best projects of 2018 with us.

For some it was an opportunity to pay it forward, for others it was the level of trust their clients had shown them. Check out our clients’ favorite projects from 2018 here and follow us on Intsagram, where we will post more of the best from 2018 through the end of the year.

Andy Anderson jumped at the chance to work with Jane Goodall and Chimp Haven.   As Andy told us,  "My life as an artist has been amazing and I want to give back to meaningful projects and causes and this was one of those projects. It was unforgettable. "
At the top of Greg Whitaker's list was this shoot he did for Toyota Material Handling with Doe Advertising out of Louisville. He gave these reliable, no-nonsense technicians a "heroic" air by shooting their portraits in black and white on a simple white background.
This shoot for New Balance was a favorite for Philip Edsel.  It was a great assignment,"...because the client basically wanted me to do my thing, which meant strong colors and architectural lines."
Jeff Kauck tells us his favorite project for 2018 was  for Karen Herold of Studio K Creative who was interested in floral images for an interior design project. He says, "She empowered me to return to my days in painting school."
Paul Elledge loves the challenge of working with real clients in order  to capture something  honest and authentic.  It's what made this portrait for his client Trianon Salon among his favorite projects of 2018.
This video shot by  Tim Tadder for Asics is just one element of a multi-pronged campaign for the Japanese based shoe brand.  It is the sort of all-encompassing, truly collaborative project at which Tim excels.
One of Chris Crisman favorite projects involved creating a series of images for the  Pennsylvania Ballet's 2018-2019 season.  It gave him the opportunity to create a bold statement through the use of color and shape to convey a unique visual metaphor for each ballet.
Lou Bopp told us his best job of 2018 was for the non-profit Africa Teachers Foundation.  It involved a ton of travel throughout rural Kenya, and as he says " The subjects, students and teachers were awesome and the project was for an uber-worthy cause.  It doesn't get much better."
Chad Holder submitted images from the library he created for Alerus.  It was an assignment that allowed him a lot of freedom to create images that were as he says "candid and true."
Saverio Truglia told us, "It's unusual to be hired repeatedly in the a single year for the same campaign, however both 2018 and 2019 chapters of this social push for GM's car share service, Maven Gig are both in the can.  The confidence my client has in me makes this the best project(s) for 2018."
This short film for Allen Edmonds Company for a web series focused on the "Artisans of Freedom" is a top pick for Director Christopher Ryan.  In it he tells the stories of "made in America" craftsmen who are able to produce quality leather goods and yet continue to innovate.
According to Dana Hursey, 2018 was a great year.  His favorite shoot though, was an editorial shoot he did with Indi film director Billy Clift. "The production gave us the opportunity to just play."
Andi Elloway's favorite campaign of 2018 was her shoot for Puma.  photographing Marcus Gustafsson (a free runner), and Melvin TimTim (a choreographer) who both used the streets of Venice as their backdrop. She shot both motion capture and stills.
Markku Lahdesmaki identified this pro bono campaign for the non-profit organization Stand for the Silent: "This campaign is one that is very special to me.  The organization  works with students, parents and educators to confront cyberbullying. It became a labor of love and passion for everyone involved with so many of my production team and crew donating their time to help lift awareness of this pressing cause: Milk Studios LA (who gave us studio space free of charge for the day), my producer Lisa-Maria Cabrera, make-up artist Prisca Wille, assistant David Winthrop Hanson and our incredible talents, who bravely volunteered to star in these ads".
For David Emmite, his favorite project was for Puma.  It was a combination still and motion video shot over 3 days in studio and on location in Portland, Oregon- showcasing the new Hybrid sneaker with 2 amazing athletes  - the Canadian sprinter  Andre De Grasse and Alica Schmidt, an American middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters.
Gary Copeland chose his shoot for Dickies as his favorite job in 2018.  He says, "Even though you wouldn't know it from the photo, the locations we shot at in Montana were absolutely stunning.  I always love the chance to shoot real people, doing real work in my own documentary style."
This campaign  for Starbucks was Stephen Hamilton's favorite  project  of 2018.  He says, "it allowed for complete freedom and conceptual exploration of the symbiotic relationship between coffee and cream. It was great to explore this interaction with motion and stills Starbucks is a great client!"
Scott Van Osdol loved working with Slingshot Dallas on this full blown campaign for Newland Communities.  There were 8 agency clients, 60 models plus more extras from the neighborhood and a well oiled support staff  It's the sort of big production in which Scott seems to thrive and made it one of his favorites.
