The Producers of Visual Connections – Chicago have been working hard to develop a program that will provide buyers of visual media the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the most relevant topics in today’s industry.
The morning Keynote Q&A will examine the sourcing and publishing of social media imagery. The discussion will include the particular issues surrounding social media, both as a source of ‘real’ photography and video for editors seeking the ‘Instagram look,’ as a platform for marketing and finding new talent. The high-powered panel of experts includes Kimber Leigh Nussbaum, a freelance art buyer and producer currently at Calvary Agency, Liz Baugher, owner of Emissary and The Good Influence, Nuno Silva, VP of Product and a founding member of Stocksy, and copyright attorney, Bill McGrath. Next up will be a panel discussion, moderated by Producer Ellen Herbert, called Marrying Stills and Motion, in which Director/Photographers, Laurie Rubin and Jonathan Chapman will discuss how they coordinate campaigns across print and digital platforms for a variety of clients.
The final session of the day will focus on the latest in search and licensing platforms. Industry experts Doug Dawir of DMLAsearch, Brian Novy of Dissolve, and Lisa Vasquez Roper of Alamy, will show you how to get the most out of search engines, like DMLAsearch, and navigate agencies’ licensing platforms. Whether it’s an obscure editorial image you need or a multi-media, multi-territory license, the tips you’ll pick up will save you time.
