Cover Art Chronicles: Riccardo Gola’s Latest Visual Masterpieces

Posted on

Since 2006, Riccardo Gola has built an impressive career as an illustrator, art director, and graphic designer, crafting hundreds of book covers for leading publishers such as Rizzoli, Garzanti, Longanesi, Amazon Publishing, Salani, Nord, and Vallardi.

His recent work includes cover illustrations for 24Plus Magazine by Il Sole 24 Ore on instant money transfer, an illustration for Internazionale magazine (above) accompanying Eduardo Halfon’s “Surviving Sundays,” a portrait of philosopher Walter Benjamin, and the German edition cover of Syou Ishida’s novel We’ll Prescribe You a Cat for Piper Verlag.

Gola also illustrated a portrait of jazz pianist Roberto Tarenzi for an album cover and designed a series of covers for Vallardi’s EasyGo dictionaries—continuing to showcase his signature blend of conceptual clarity, strong design, and visual storytelling across both editorial and publishing projects.
